1984 JEEP CJ7 CJ-7 – $2,400

this jeep needs a little tlc but is a VERY good jeep if your looking for one to fix up to your liking and drive at the same time

i drive it daily at least 60 miles a day! found another project i want to get into before spring, so this must go asap

frame very solid, i drive it daily, 4wd works great, manual locking hubs, single shifter transfer case,

Dunlop A/T radial rover tires are good and on 15″ ford 5 lug aluminum rims (shine up great!), jeep runs very good

has a “crate motor” inline 6 cyl a few yrs old ,(aprox 76,000 on motor and counting…, unkown true mileage of body)

i am the third owner,

it has a 2 barrel webber carb, AUTOMATIC transmission

(jeep was converted to a 727 automatic torque flight transmission, clutch pedal still in it if you want to convert it back to a standard),

has column shifter, needs to be adjusted some , it does not quite reach “park” , it’s a linkage adjustment need not a transmission prob,

starts in neutral fine and e-brake works to “park” it , single shifter transfer case ,

(in the pictures shows some oil on the front driveshaft and pass side of the transmission

this is from a valve cover gasket leak, gasket has been replaced since pics)

4 new shocks and spring shackles,it has “lift springs” that ride very strong ,

(one front spring is slightly bent but does not effect operation or function)

new springs are cheap (like 100 each) if you wanted to replace it or all of them,

has new front wheel bearings/seals, brake pads, master cyl and inner tie rod end, drag link are NEW now too ,

has power steering, steering is not sloppy and jeep handles great!

has a trailer hitch that is very strong, jeep probly could use a good tune up,

has a minor exhaust manifold gasket leak but not loud or “bad” or of immediate concern easy fix,

interior has 2 front seats from a 89 wrangler (nice), no rear seat,

has an alpine stereo (cd player doesn’t work) 2 new 6×9 speakers and box’s

with a 300W amp, tunes sound OK needs a sub woofer to sound better IMO

& could use some wiring clean up

decent hard side doors (black interior) (no key for the doors) and the door panels are “hard to find” embossed with “CJ” in each door

hard top in good condition but rear hatch hinges could use new ones

(one is stiff ) and has one locking latch missing , side windows currently are one piece glass with limo tint

have (2) tinted sliding side windows that would fit it for the hard top if buyer wants (or sold separate 60.00 for the pair)

and there is a full roll cage (located in torrington 06010) (not installed now but was from this jeep)

that also goes with it if your interested or cage is for sale separate 100 FIRM for the roll cage

-jeep has a BRAND NEW windshield

(pass side windshield hinge is broken but easily replaced), new wiper arms and heads,

tub has some rust, but very savable,

has a couple temp floor patches in sheetmetal but more less it could use new floors (available cheap at millsupply.com)

missing a couple dash knobs,

heat works OK, it’s hot air but think heater core may have some clogged fins, just doesn’t “flow” in air like it “should” but does work good enough to drive every day like i do.

has a new thermostat housing and thermostat,all hoses and radiator good,

all the lights work (fog lights turn on with highbeams), has H4 halogen headlights, it starts every time and runs good ,

no spare tire to include with it , what you see is what it has

frame is VERY solid jeep is a great driver/fixxer upper

and again the tub needs some work, but i have seen very MUCH worse for much more money

and it qualifies for “early american” license plates and is also emissions “exempt” (evap system and catalytic conv are still in it)

ct title is in hand,and i drive it every day

some bodywork and some TLC this jeep will survive a long time
