1950 FORD , F1, all original, dash never cut, firewall never molested or cut, good straight body, no rust, insulation on original wiring started cracking, exposing bare wires so entire truck was recently rewired, all gages and speedometer work, still has original oil bath air filter and original jack, windows work properly, doors fit as they should, vent in front of the windshield works, floors are solid, bed floor is metal over wood, engine looks to have been reworked, sounds good and starts quickly every time, transmission shifts smoothly, paint has many scratches from being stored in a building with farm equipment and supplies, interior is nice. Have driven around town and one short trip on the open 4 lane, each trip gets longer. Has dual glass pack mufflers. Sounds like the 50s. V8 and 3 speed Rear fenders: I removed a wraparound rear bumper which attached to the lower fenders. The bumper rubbed paint from fenders, leaving bare metal. When I found this truck, it took two people to keep it running. One priming the carburetor and one working the controls. Day one, first tire came apart and went flat, second day, two more tires came apart. Within one week the wiring lost so much insulation that the truck was totally rewired. Broke a fan belt and blew out exhaust gasket. Front motor mounts had so hardened until the engine was felt like it was sitting on the frame. I scrubbed the exterior with steel wool soap pads to remove years of detearated paint mixed with stuck on dust and whatever. All this because the truck had been stored in a building with other farm and work equipment for so long. I have relied on fresh gas to clean the fuel system. Now starts first try every time and I am running errands around town 3or 4 times a week. Still am finding things that need tightening, need loosing, needs oiling.
