In the year 1977, the car industry was forced to shift along with the newer demands of customers. Most people wanted something new looking, but will offer economical solutions gasoline consumption and other factors. The 1977 Chevrolet Impala was designed to meet all the demands it had a taller, narrower and shorter body. This time it was lighter and smaller compared to the previous models.
Fuel efficiency was also one of its highlights, because it was much more efficient than the full-size models from other competitors. Other than that, the 1977 Impala may have smaller dimensions but the company managed to increase legroom, headroom and even trunk space.
In that same year the 1977 Chevrolet Impala took back the throne of being the number one in the sales position. It was even dubbed as car of the year by Motor Trend. Although, there were no convertible variants that year, because of the rumors about some federal issues, the Impala managed to gain back more than the respect of its customers. The 1977 model still brought GM’s V8 engines, which also gave customers an option to go for a diesel powered variant.
All in all, from 1977 up to 1996 this model was getting a large share in the sales department and was able to continue the Impala’s reputation.
